Can an agent pay with the Ankr (x402 Monad RPC + agent tools) MCP server?
YESAnkr launched x402 (USDC on Monad) for its RPC and agent tools (MCP at mcp.ankr.com/rpc, 25 tools listed). Unpaid POST to the x402 RPC endpoint answered HTTP 402 ($0.001 USDC); the MCP endpoint itself answered initialize/tools/list without payment.
Proof
“and settles the payment. Ankr returns the data. Agents can find every available tool on their own through Ankr's discovery manifest, which follows the x402 v2 spec on Monad mainnet ( eip155:143 ). What Agents Can Access With x402 x402 opens two ways into Ankr on Monad. Agents that use MCP can call Ankr's agent”
“HTTP 402 + x402 v2 challenge: amount 1000 atomic units of USDC (= $0.001) (same host also sends an MPP Payment challenge)”
