New to this? Plain-English meanings
- AI agent
- Software that takes actions for you, such as buying an API call, without a person clicking each step.
- Lightning
- Bitcoin’s fast, cheap payment layer: payments settle in seconds and can cost a fraction of a cent.
- L402
- A way for an API to say “pay first”: it replies with a Lightning invoice, the agent pays a few sats, then gets its answer.
- x402
- The same pay-first idea for APIs, but paid in USDC (a dollar stablecoin) instead of Bitcoin.
- MPP
- Machine Payments Protocol: an open standard that lets agents pay for web services per request, with stablecoins or other payment methods.
- Stablecoin
- A crypto token pegged to a normal currency, usually the US dollar, so its price does not swing like Bitcoin.
Not everything is a yes
We publish the misses too. NO means the source says no (or the organisation’s own page lists no Bitcoin option). KINDA means it works only with a human step, an account or a caveat. Each card quotes its source.

Every verdict shows the exact sentence from the source page. API prices come from the HTTP 402 challenge each endpoint sent us, not from marketing pages. Anything we could not read is shown as unverified. Method →
